I'm planning to buy a new sports car, but insurance (even on my parents family plan) is too expensive to have myself as the primary driver (24 yr old male w/ a recent accident). My plan is to have my parents who live 80 miles away from me, be the primary driver of the new car. While I will be the primary driver of their old lincoln town car. How risky is my plan? What's the probability of it working perfectly even through auto claims? A few concerns: 1) I hear auto insurers routinely check up on the mileage every 6 months, how strict are they with making sure the primary drivers are really driving their respective cars? 2) Can my parents be claimed as primary DRIVER (on the new car for auto insurance), even if we co-signed for the auto loan and I am the primary BORROWER? 2.2) what if they are the primary borrower on the loan? Does that make it more believable to the auto insurance? FYI, i've already gotten quotes, and if i were the primary driver, it would be $250 a month, and my dad would be $60 a month. So, I really hope my plan works!

Lots of info, sorry! My car was parked on the street and hit during the night. I drove the car to the repair place the following morning and the airbag deployed on the way there. (Stupid, I know, I wasn't thinking). My insurance company, GEICO is insisting that the damage is not consistent with a hit and run accident. They have taken recorded statements from me and my boyfriend. They have contracted an independent accident reconstructionist to read the airbag deployment. The reconstructionist originally told me that he was unable to retrieve the data, but the insurance company is now telling me that he was able to get a partial reading. And that it shows that the airbag deployed as a result of impact. The airbag did not actually fully deploy. There is no powder or injury to me to justify a complete deployment. Does anybody know if they have the right to deny my claim based on suspicion? They keep trying to make me say that my boyfriend was driving the car, which he wasn't. We were in the house together all night. Also: car was in previous fire; severe damage to front of car, all repaired. accident happened in CA, full coverage policy written in GA I know its a lot of info. An elderly lady backed up into my car a few days ago and we decided it'd be best to file an insurance claim. After the claim was ruled in my favor I was sent to a body shop for an estimate of the repair. The damage was to the rear quarter panel of my car which consisted of a scrape across the panel and a quarter sized dent in the panel. The insurance adjuster gave me an estimate and check for 855$. My question is in regards to the repairs, I feel that since this is 100% the other party's fault and since I am the person who has to drive the car that I am entitled to the maximum premium in repairs. I have been reading on Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) and most will say that its the cheap way of making a repair. Does anyone know if it would be possible to go back and get a new estimate/settlement for a new rear quarter panel? My car was in an accident (not my fault, I wasn't in it and the time) when someone plowed into the back. All signs are indicating it's totaled. She and I have no-fault insurance. Here is my questions. 1. Do I talk to the police and insurance company? 2. Do I get any money/compensation from the accident? 3. Do I go after her insurance and Do I get anything from that? 4. My door was kicked in recently, someone broke in and robbed me. I dont have home owners insurance, so I have to fork over the costs.
